Pros: Secure Reminder helps set desktop reminders and is a scheduler software. Reminders can be persistent and recurrent with added notes and also attachments of relevant documents and files or even an internet URL. Reminders can be sent to teammates over a LAN or the internet. The reminder note can even be read out to the recipient. Task and event scheduler, a personal information manager and a password generator are parts of this package. Information stored by the application are in encrypted form using advanced 256 bit AES encryption.

Cons: Except for the task and event scheduler and the ability to attach files/url’s with task reminders, all the other functions are what is easily available with standard applications like the MS Outlook. It even duplicates an address book. If you are maintaining an address book for your mail application, this is a duplication of effort. It is difficult to say if the added security features add value.

Overall the application is reasonably easy to use, easy to learn and generally well designed. Ability to set reminders for tasks for team members, particularly as a recurring one and attaching meaningful notes are good points. On the other hand many of the features can be obtained from other workgroup products. On balance then it is a 3 star package.
